Agedashi tofu
Agedashi tofu is a deep fried tofu with the special sauce. Tofu (soybean curd) contains useful substances and is considered to be useful to health. Agedashi tofu is a favorite dish of the Japanese, and is frequently served in restaurants.
Ingredients (4 servings):
2 blocks (600 g) of firm tofu
1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
Spring onion to taste
2 tbsp flour
1 cup dashi
2 tbsp soy sauce
Preparation:
1. Cut tofu into pieces and leave for 10 minutes to dry it out.
2. Mix dashi and soy sauce and bring to boil.
3. Dust tofu with flour and fry in oil until it turns brown.
4. Served with sauce, ginger and sliced onion.
