Japan is the main producer of Green tea in the world. Due to the particularities of the Japanese climate, many sorts of tea are cultivated there.

RYOKUCHA. This sort of tea is the most popular in Japan. After the tealeaves are collected it is dried up with a hot air and grinded.
GYOKURO. This sort of tea is made from upper leaf-buds. Before picking leaves are covered with a straw for 20 days. It prevents leaflets from sun rays.
MIKICHA. This sort of tea is made from the stems of the tea-tree. That's why it is called "stem tea".
BANCHA. This tea is made from the mature tealeaves.
MATCHA. As gyokuro tea, matcha is made from upper leaf-buds. And it is also covered with straw for 20 days before collecting. Leaves are dried up and pulverized.
