Shochu

There are two kinds of shochu:

  • korui shochu
  • otsurui shochu

The difference is in a way of preparation.

  1. Korui shochu is a new kind of sake, because all the ingredients, such as tomitsu or natsumeyashi, are import. This kind of shochu contains less then 38 degrees. The way of preparation equals boiling, that's why the drink is so pure and it smells no alcohol.
  2. Otsurui shochu is an old and traditional kind of sake. It is made of barley and rice. This kind of shochu contains less then 45 degrees. The smell remains delicate due to the simplicity of preparation.
