Fish
Samma (saury)

Samma
Samma

Saury can be met in the Pacific Ocean and in Japanese seas. The main season of catching saury is the end of August till December. As saury likes light and eats plankton, it lives in the highest waters. That's why it can be easily caught.

Saury is rich with vitamins B12, A, D etc. Vitamin B12 promotes improvement of cerebration, vitamin A improves sight and protects from cancer diseases.

The Japanese like saury very much. This fish is widely used in Japanese cuisine. Saury is served in fried (yakizakana) and boiled (samma-no miso-ni) ways. Sometimes sashimi is made of it. But you can never try sushi made of saury.
