Fig is the most popular fruit in Hyogo prefecture. It came to Japan from France in the beginning of the XX century. The Japanese climate is very favorable for fig. In summer the Japanese always eat fig, as this is their usual food. Dried jam is also made of fig.

Fig is an unpretentious plant; it does not require any care and grows everywhere. That's why country people never buy it.
