Ringo (apples)

Apples
Ringo

Ringo came to Japan from China very long time ago. Modern sorts of apples were delivered from America. 70% of ringo is cultivated in Aomori prefecture and in the northern part of Japan. The tastiest apples are cultivated in Aomori and Nagano prefectures. Fuji is the original sort of apples, which has pleasant sweet taste. Fuji can be stored for ages and they don't loose their healthy properties and taste.

Sanfuji has been very popular last time. In the core of this apple mitsu (honey) is formed. That's why these apples are very sweet. These apples are cultivated only in Japan and exported abroad.

Apple vinegar (ringo-shu), apple wine and apple jam are made of these apples. But in the whole the Japanese prefer to eat these apples in fresh way.
