FEATURES AND USEFUL PROPERTIES OF GREEN TEA

Even Buddhist monks admitted healing properties of green tea and used it as a medicine.

Nowadays, a deep attention to the useful properties of tea plant became showing off after the 2nd International Symposium on tea study, which took place in 1991 in Japan, Sidzuoka prefecture. Scientists proved that green tea possesses anticancer and antibacterial properties and also makes retardation of aging.

The main feature of green tea is considerable content of vitamins A, C, E. There is 3-4 times more vitamin C then in spinach, 10 times more vitamin A then in carrot. If take into account the fact that vitamin C doesn't lose its properties at a high temperature, then green tea may be considered as quite essential food substance. There are a lot of other useful components as kalium, calcium, flavonoids, fluor, vegetable fiber etc. Besides green tea contains catechine, caffeine and tannin.

Catechine is a component, due to which astringency appears. Also it puts back the clock of range of diseases, retards lipid formation and lowers the cholesterin content in blood. Catechine has antibacterial properties as well. To assure oneself of this, it is enough to flush a throat. One can make tea with normal strength (it is also possible to use black tea for flushing). The catechine content in sencha tea is much higher in comparison to such sorts as gyokuro and bancha.

Caffeine is a component that contains bitterness. It provokes weariness taking down. And there are some suggestions about its anticancer properties.

Tannin is a type of amino acid; it makes a particularly nice taste to green tea. It recruits mind, raise the ability to concentrate, healthily affects blood pressure. If you drink green tea 30-40 minutes before relaxation, you'll have relief.

It is necessary to mention that tea' components differ, depending on the season. Fresh sprout have much tannin and vitamins, but less catechine and caffeine. Leaves that are harvested in summer have more catechine and caffeine.
