We suggest you make original decoration for dinner table or pleasant surprise for a close person. Kids particularly like such figurines.
"Swan"
1. Take an apple of large or medium size (photo 1).
2. Cut the apple nearly in half: leave nearly 5 millimeters from the middle line (photo 2). Cut the other half in the same way (photo 3). You will get three details (photo 4).
3. Take one "half" and make perpendicular cuts on one side: horizontal cut nearly 5 mm from the edge and vertical one nearly 5 mm from the middle line (photo 5). Cut neatly till intersection. You will get a separate section (photo 6).
4. Make horizontal and vertical cuts on this segment 5 mm from edges as in previous item (photo 7).
5. Repeat these procedure several times until the surface lets you. Usually you will get 3-5 separate segments (photo 8).
6. Repeat this process for the other side of the "half".
7. On the middle line make two triangular cuts for the neck and tail of our swan (photo 9).
8. Cut a thin segment that we got in item 2 in two. Cut the neck and tail from one half (photo 10, 11).
9. Put the neck in one triangular cut and the tail details in the other (photo 12). Then move the segments and make wings (photo 13).
10. Moisten all details with salted water so that apple pulp does not get oxidized and yellow.
You can make other forms of apples, e.g. hare's head. This form is easier to carve out of the 6th part of apple rather than its quater (photo 14).
